Re: Submission of Poems for publication in The Anthology:  “Deep River Rhythms” A Tribute To Our Ancestors – Past, Present and Future

Dear Barbara A. De Loach,

This letter is to acknowledge the receipt of your three poems.  I will recommend them for publishing at our next editorial board meeting, which convenes on Sept. 15.  In my opinion, your writings are refreshing and without blemish.  The world is hungry to digest words of wisdom.  There’s a polluted over flow of poetic debris circulating in our communities. Your poems are like a cry in the wilderness.

In the name of Christ, art, and education, I extend an invitation to you to perform your spiritual gifts at a Gospel Music Showcase.  I host such a showcase every Sunday from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Crescent City Restaurant, 9395 Monte Vista Avenue in Montclair.  We began on August 8 and are currently in our fifth week of performance.

Each week spiritual artists are invited to share their talents.  No prior audition is necessary.  The restaurant diners are primarily African American Christians from the Inland Empire area.  Those with merchandise such as: tapes, CD’s, books, etc. may promote and sell discreetly and in order.

Please feel free to call me for more details.  Enclosed is a flyer containing more information.  The invitation is open to the Sunday that suits your schedule and convenience.

Yours truly,

P.S. Regarding the publication – I’ll be in touch.
